The Edam ladies' bonspiel was held the weekend of Feb. 8 with seven rinks this year. It took Pauline Kobes's team an extra end to win the annual bonspiel. Kobes was two up, coming home with the hammer when she missed a takeout, which allowed Twila Doom to tie the game up and head to an extra end. In the extra end, Kobes would not make the same mistake, hitting and sticking for the single and the win.

The B final game saw two teams from Meota hashing it out and it was Wanda Weber's team who came out ahead of Huguette Johnson. The C final had local Karen McCaffrey playing against Carol Anne Pylypow from Glaslyn, with the local rink claiming the title. First team out was the Carol Dyck rink of North Battleford.

After the finals a banquet was held for all curlers. This was followed by door prizes, prize picking and games.

On behalf of the Edam Curling Club, Twila Doom thanked all seven teams for coming out. Special thanks went out to all out-of-town teams and the sponsors who made the weekend a success. The night concluded with the annual diamond ring raffle. This year's winner was Sheila Orchison.
