Trailer fire injures two

Staying with Vic Bev Hult for the summer is Volodymyr Kuras from Ukraine. He is learning about farming in Canada and is also learning English. He arrived about a month late, but still got to do some seeding and will be here long enough to learn about a harvest season.

Karen Scott and Earl Wallace were unfortunate to have a fire in their trailer Sunday morning. Their dog woke Earl at an early hour and Earl realized there was a fire. Both Karen and Earl are presently hospitalized with minor injuries. At this time there is no news about the cause of the fire or if the trailer can be salvaged. Waseca firefighters were on the spot quickly along with other aid.

From the Waseca Herald of Oct.1,1907: Splendid weather for threshing. Flour raised another ten cents per bag last Thursday. This makes a total advance of 60 cents since May.

H. Hedger has now got a special set of plates for his crushing mill and is prepared to turn out first class graham flour if persons desiring some will give him a few hours notice.

Both services of Presbyterian and English churches on Sunday, Sept. 22 were well attended, the day being a model one. The English church congregation will soon commence building, as a site will be secured shortly.
