A total fire ban is in effect in Waseca Village. This ban will stay in effect until there is sufficient rain or until further notice.
A benefit evening is being planned for Glen Sutherland. It will take place in Lashburn Community Hall June 27 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Silent and live auctions will be part of the evening and donations will be gratefully accepted. Beef on a bun will be served. Watch for posters which will state any further information.
Grace Flewell of Red Deer, Alta., will be visiting with the Sutherland families during the next week.
Congratulations to Jenna McFadyen who broke the record in the 3000m dash at both the Maidstone local field meet and the regional field meet that was held at Meadow Lake.
Wedding bells are ringing in the Sutherland family. Keith and Debbie Sutherland’s son, Shane and his intended Janel, will be married July 24. A pre-wedding get together is to be held in their honour June 30 at the Maidstone bowling alley. Congratulations and best wishes to Shane and Janel.
Just a reminder to Waseca recreation board members that a meeting to finalize the Father’s Day event June 21 was held May 31. Make sure you contact the recreation board executive to find out all the details if you were not able to attend the meeting. There is a lot of work to be done.
