TISDALE 鈥� The Tisdale Red Apple has raised over $832 for their annual food drive, plus several boxes of non-perishable foods.
Some of the collected goods and funds are sent for a program where Tisdale Elementary School students can sign up to learn how to cook, while the rest of it goes to the Tisdale United Church for a program that teaches young adults to cook.
鈥淭he food drive is to give back to the kids needing to learn how to cook and bake,鈥� said Sharon Sabadash, manager of the Tisdale Red Apple. 鈥淭hey go to the kitchen; they learn to make a basic meal, a good meal with basic ingredients鈥� Right from making a jug of juice, to craft dinner, to tuna helper.鈥�
This is the 5th year the Tisdale Red Apple organized the food drive.
Sabadash said the Red Apple wanted to support the intuitive because they鈥檙e passionate about feeding youth.
鈥淲e love it, it鈥檚 a wonderful program. They don鈥檛 get to trade it, they actually have to cook with it and eat it. They鈥檙e happy kids and happy tummies.鈥�
