Time to get back into routine

Pine Island Apartments News

Holidays are over all too soon. The summer has gone quickly. Now it’s time to get back into routine.

My holiday was great and was so busy it would take a whole book to record it. It’s a great policy to take things a day at a time and enjoy it.

Everyone at the apartments has had a busy summer also. We are sorry to say Denise Newton lost her sister Daphne. She had her sisters Rosemary and Robena and daughter Sandra from Ontario spend some time with her. Our thoughts have been with you all.

Jenny Yastrubecki has had cataract surgery and is doing well, just waiting to have her eyes tested for glasses.

We welcome Evelyn Lundquist into apartment 2 and wish her well in her new place.

Jean Stewart has had a very busy summer with many friends and relatives visiting.

Everyone enjoyed Tuesday morning coffee at the suites. It was nice to see Heather Chisholm, who is visiting with Gill Churn. Good cake, Heather.

Visiting on the weekend with Jean Hartman were Keith and Dawn Hartman of Lloydminster and Kurt Hartman of Sherwood Park, Alta.

Colleen Koski has also had a busy summer. Our sympathy to you on the loss of your nephew Jason Jackson of Edmonton and your uncle Tom Prentice of Prince George, B.C. Visiting her this summer were her granddaughter Jasmine of Govan, brothers Terry and Bev Ford of Sundre, Alta., Norm and June Ford of Meritt, B.C. and cousins from Macrorie. These people also visited Coleen's mom May Ford who is in Pine Island Lodge. Colleen is also pleased to say she is a great aunt for the first time and a first great-great-grandchild for May Ford. She didn't get the name yet but they will give it to her later.

Thanks to all the people who have brought fruit and vegetables to us here. They are greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Thanks to Frances Wright who took me Tuesday to quilt shops in Meadow Lake and Spiritwood. It was a delightful day with beautiful weather.

For those people I missed gathering news from, will catch up next week.

This is a busy time for the farmers, so hope the harvest weather lasts.
