ARBORFIELD 鈥� The Town of Arborfield celebrated its golden jubilee, its 50th anniversary, with a parade on the weekend on Aug. 5 and 6, 1978.
Alvin Alyea, Arborfield鈥檚 mayor, described the anniversary celebration as a 鈥渢errific success鈥� and added that he was 鈥渞eally pleased鈥� to see for Arborfield residents return from as far away as Vancouver Island, the United States and Ontario.
More than 300 adults attended the pancake breakfast and a like number was in attendance at the street steak barbeque. Alyea said that more than 60 units, including many horses and riders participated in the parade.
