Three months of birthdays celebrated

Hi there, again! It's hard to believe this is December. November seemed to have just flown by. We are so fortunate to enjoy such nice weather so far. It would be great if it would at least last until Christmas.

It's been busy here at the High Rise with different activities. Nov. 12, Second to None catered a delicious supper of barbecued chicken. We are always sure to have a tasty meal when they come.

Our birthday party for October, November and December was held Nov. 12. Congratulations and best wishes go to all our celebrants. In Octobert there were Elden Jones, William Lobbe, Murray McCrimmon, Jeanette Prince and Rick Perron. In November there was Ruby Hrabia, Doug Fidler, Louise Haubold, Jenny Craig and Larry Smith. In December there was Rose Marie Rolheiser, Alice Holmes, Maxine Finch, Barb Foot and Margaret Benson.

We were so glad to have Phyllis Johnston entertain us on piano and singing Christmas songs. We all had lyric sheets so were able to sing along, too. Phyllis is a lovely pianist and has played at many places in the Battlefords. We look forward to having her again in the New Year.

Afterwards, there was a delicious dessert and everyone enjoyed a visit.

Shirley Tebay was happy to attend the Christening of a great-granddaughter, Hannah Lynn Tebay. A delicious lunch and visiting followed the service. It was a lovely drive as the weather and the roads were great.

It is nice to see more newcomers moving in recently. Welcome to Maurice Bear, David Reed, Steve Meech, Larry Norbury and Elmer Hall. There will likely be more that we will be glad to meet later.

Flu and colds seem to have plagued some of our seniors this month. Coughs sometimes hang on for a long time. I hope everyone is feeling better now. Being my next report will be the end of December, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
