I am happy to write this article because when I saw this happening my heart went out to Dillion and his brothers. What a nice example of family love. Dillion graduated Grade 12 this year at Maymont Central School and was unable to walk the stairs himself so all three brothers were there to help him get on stage.

What is a brother's place in a family? To a younger brother, he may be a guide to help traverse the complicated path of growing up. To an older brother, a little brother may be seen as a pain in the neck, but not this brother, right guys?. Congratulations, Dillion.

The Maymont potluck and jam session held June 16 was a very enjoyable evening. Special thanks to all 14 musicians who entertained for the evening: John Sloan, Thelma Boychuck, Carl Ross, Vern Hoknes, Kolan Bulmer, Tom Caldwell, Dave Hebert, Howard Bulmer, Mel Deagnon, John Reddekopp, Doreen Duchnistski, Bert Carpentier, John Vandeerveen and Irene Nowosad.

There was a crowd of more than 50 people who joined us and potluck was wonderful.

Maymont seniors were invited to Borden June 12 for supper and an evening of entertainment. Eleven of our seniors joined the seniors in Borden. They were entertained by Russ Fountain, Irwin Hamp and Jack Karpan. Rose Mandziak did a wonderful job of singing. Prizes were given out and then it was time to eat. Thanks you for the great evening, Borden seniors.

Living Sky School Division 202 Students' Hall of Fame was held June 14 at the Battleford arena in Battleford. Special guest speaker was Rueben Mayes, a former NFL player and NBCHS alumni. Professionally, Rueben has helped secure over $85 million in philanthropy and developed over 300 events. Rueben's greatest success has been engaging people, corporations and foundations.

His success as a college consensus All-American, National College Hall of Fame inductee, NFL Rookie of the Year and multi-year Pro-Bowl selections during his seven-year career opens many doors and builds rapport beyond his 17-year fundraising career. He went on to earn an MBA in 2000, and recently the designation of certified fund raising executive (CFRE) credentials. Rueben thinks people are important and respects them. Whether a doctor, nurse, donor, volunteer or janitor, he has the same approach to relationships.
