The last 10 days of school for 2015 have arrived. The weather has been beautiful and we haven't had any snow days yet. This has been great for concert practices and for the bus drivers, too.
The SLC has been trying to do many new things for the students this year. Last Thursday at noon hour, they organized a dodge ball game between the elementary teachers and the high school teachers. It was a close battle, except Mr. Nickell kept throwing too hard and took all the elementary teachers out very quickly. Oh well, wait until the singing competition!Â
This year, the school is going to have a senior girls' basketball team. They will be practicing after school Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr. Lockwood will be coaching the girls.
The SCC held a free movie afternoon for students and their families last Sunday afternoon. There was free popcorn and drinks for everyone. They watched the Christmas movie, Home Alone, while relaxing on the gym floor.
On the weekend, Brooke Ferris participated in a AA peewee girls' hockey tournament. Brooke and her team won the gold medal.
Arin Amson and Janna Ferris also participated in this tournament at a higher level.
George and Irene Hamp made their annual trip to the school on behalf of the Gideons. They distributed Bibles to the Grade 5 students.
Since school started in August, the school has had two interns from the University of Saskatchewan. Brett Goller has been working with Mrs. Brehon in the high school. Samantha Martin-Brondum has been working with Mrs. Thompson in kindergarten and Grade 1. They are finished their internship and will be leaving us at the end of December.
