Swathers are on the move

Some swathing is being done especially as one travels a little south. The hot days are ripening crops quickly and for some haying is still in progress. Visiting in the district over the weekend were Enid (Tasker) Christianson of Ponoka, Alta.

Some swathing is being done especially as one travels a little south. The hot days are ripening crops quickly and for some haying is still in progress.

Visiting in the district over the weekend were Enid (Tasker) Christianson of Ponoka, Alta., who manages a visit in the area every summer, and Randy Goodridge and his son Jamie. These were short visits for both parties. Randy had to be back at work in Edmonton Monday and Jamie had to be back at work in Calgary.

We were shocked to hear Sunday of the sudden death of Hugh Lamont, who was living just outside of Maidstone and who, for many years, had worked as a mechanic.

Hugh was the second of five children born to Dan and Joyce Lamont. He grew up in the Dry Gully district where his parents farmed.

We extend our sympathy to his family, to his sisters and their families, to his brother and to the number relatives he leaves to mourn his passing.

Gully Gus says, "You owe it to yourself to be successful. After that you owe it to Revenue Canada."
