The Marsden Seniors will have a silent auction and bake sale on March 17 for St. Patrick's Day. Proceeds will go to renovations for the Seniors' Centre. Refreshments will be provided.

A supper will be held in the Marsden Community Hall March 3. It is in appreciation for work done by Alvin Nutbrown over many years. Also, a volunteer will be honoured for their efforts. Get your votes in for the volunteer you think is worthy of this designation. Watch for posters for these events.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Aurell Henry Joseph Lane. He passed away suddenly Feb. 13 at Lloydminster Hospital, at the age of 79. Aurell was born in Kortemasy, Belgium. A funeral service was conducted from the Neilburg Community Hall on Feb. 17 with Pastor Mel Letkeman officiating. Aurell was a butcher for many years prior to his retirement. He was active in the Legion and enjoyed gardening. His nieces and nephews were very dear to him. Aurell will be sadly missed, especially by his older brother, Maurice and his sister-in-law, Connie.

Members of the Artland Ladies Club, along with everyone else from their community, enjoyed a day of bowling on Jan. 29 in Neilburg. Everyone was a winner!

Marsden now has a new mayor, Craig Watson. There is now a councillor position that has not yet been filled. Perhaps you might consider volunteering to fill this role.
