Borden Art and Eatery, owned by Al and Denise Nichol, has been for sale for a while now and, June 30, after nine years of serving the public seven days a week, they are ceasing to operate the cafe. If the sale goes through, there will be new owners taking over - hopefully in the next month or so.

A thank you and retirement party complete with cake is planned for the afternoon of June 25 to pay tribute to their service to the community. For the first two weeks of July, if necessary, the Borden Seniors' Club will serve coffee at their club room from 8 - 10 a.m. only. The community wishes Al and Denise all the best as they take some time for themselves.

Golding Service Centre, owned and operated by Ed Golding of Borden, has been sold to Gas Plus and they are busy renovating the interior and painting inside and out. For now, Ed is still selling gas and will be renting the service bay to fix tires and do service and mechanical repairs in the upcoming months. Gas Plus will have self-serve gas pumps and a convenience store which will be managed by Debbie Hembery, who has left the Borden Co-op hardware to take this new position.
