Students excel at all levels of competition

The high school students held their in-house track meet in May with the following students moving onto conferences held in Edam May 16.

The high school students held their in-house track meet in May with the following students moving onto conferences held in Edam May 16. Some of these students also advanced to divisions in Meadow Lake May 23-24 and then 15 students continued onto provincials in Saskatoon June 1 and 2.

We will start with the senior boys: Joel Blaquiere - 100m, 800m, javelin, long jump, triple jump (conference); quad, triple jump, javelin, 4x400 relay (division); javelin, 800m (provincial); Caleb Greening - 200m, discus (conference); Jessie Blais - 400m, hurdles (conference); 400m, 100m hurdles (provincial); Damon Schaefer - 400m, 800m, 1500m, discus (conference); discus, 800m, 1500m (division); Brady Fox - 1500m (conference and division); Marc LaClare - shot put (conference); Alex Corbeil - javelin (conference).

The senior girls competing were: Kelcey McCarthy - 100m, 200m, 400m, triple jump (conference and division); 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay (division); 200m, 400m, triple jump, 4x100 relay (provincial); Emma Head - 100m, 800m, shot put, javelin, long jump (conference); quad (division); Miranda Moline - 400m, hurdles, long jump, high jump (conference); high jump, long jump, 400m, 800m, 4x100 relay, 4x400M relay (division); high jump, 4x100 alternate, 4x400 alternate (provincial); Shanae Blaquiere - 1500m (conference and division); Bandi Kobes - shot put, discus, (conference, division and provincial); Mikayla Detillieux - shot put, discus, javelin, long jump (conference); Bailey Delainey - triple jump (conference, division and provincial).

Junior boys competing beyond the in-house meet were: Hunter Beynon - 100m, 200m, hurdles, long jump (conference); long jump, 200m, hurdles (division); hurdles (provincial); Jordan Sitter - 100m (conference); Zachary Nedelec - 400m, discus, javelin, triple jump (conference); triple jump, 400m (division); 400m (provincial); Eric Esquirol - 1500m, shot put (conference); Owen LaClare - shot put, discus, javelin, long jump (conference and division); long jump, javelin, discus (provincial).

Junior girls with success in track were: Keinyn Nordell - 100m, 400m, hurdles, long jump (conference); long jump, 100m, 400m (division); hurdles, 100m, 400m, long jump, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay (provincial); Sabrina Cadrain - 200m, 400m, long jump (conference); 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay (division); Hailey Shewchuk - shot put, discus, long jump (conference); discus (division); Jessica Bec - shot put, discus (conference).

The midget boys had two top eight place showings provincially: Wyatt Malenfant - 400m, discus, javelin, triple jump (conference and division); 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay (division); discus (provincial) and fourth in javelin at provincials; Jared Blaquiere - shot put, javelin (conference); javelin (division) and fifth in javelin at provincials. Also competing were Anthony Cole - 100m, hurdles, high jump (conference); high jump, long jump, 100m, hurdles (division); hurdles, 4x100 relay (provincial); Dallon Becotte - 800m, hurdles (conference and division); Jesse Cadrain - shot put, discus (conference and division).

Midget girls who moved on in track were: Brittany Bec - 100m, 200m, 400m, triple jump (conference); 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay (division); 400m (provincial); Kennedy Schaefer - 100m, hurdles (conference); high jump, long jump, 100m, hurdles, 4x100 relay (division); high jump, hurdles, 4x100 alternate (provincial); Kaitlyn McCarthy - 200m, shot put, discus, javelin (conference); shot put, discus, 200m (division); discus, shot put (provincial); Emily Levasseur - 800M, 400M, long jump (conference), 400M, 800M (division); Kalie Nordell - 1500m, hurdles, javelin (conference and division); alternate in 4x100 relay at division); Shyla Hamel - shot put, discus (conference and division).

Bantam boys who competed at the conference and division levels were: Jonathan Seipp - 100m, 400m, discus (conference and division); hurdles (division); Mason Blais - 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump (conference); 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay (division); Kade Mosimann - 800m, 1500m, 3000m, discus (conference and division); Lindon Goodall - 800m, 1500m, 3000m (conference); 3000m (division); Cordell Beynon - high jump, hurdles (conference); high jump (division); Mason Detillieux - high jump (conference); Bailey Morin - shot put, javelin (conference and division); Zachary Gordon - shot put (conference and division); Cody Lavallee - javelin (conference); Tyson Long - long jump, triple jump (conference and division).

Bantam girl track athletes who moved on from their local meet were: Payton Morin - 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump (conference and division); 4x100 relay (division); Kesha Schaefer - 100m, 400m, 800m, high jump (conference); 800m (division); Taya Cole - 400m, 800m, 3000m (conference and division); Brittany Nedelec - shot put, discus, javelin (conference); javelin (division); Chelsea Bec - shot put (conference); Jensen White - discus (conference); Melissa Monteith - javelin (conference); Tayla Poole - long jump, triple jump, high jump (conference and division); 4x100 relay (division).
