The Catholic Women's League of Wilkie celebrated their 70th anniversary along with their annual Feast of our Lady of Good Counsel, patroness of the CWL, April 23 at St. James Parish.
Mass was celebrated by Fr. John Zunti where the new league president and officers were installed. During the banquet celebration all enjoyed supper, entertainment and door prizes.
The 42nd Street Barbershop singers from Saskatoon charmed the audience with a wonderful performance. They sang classic hits, which brought fame and fortune to the likes of Doris Day and Louis Armstrong from the first part of the 20th century, much to everyone's delight.
The CWL welcomed two new members, Rachel Mamer and Allison Cey. Pins were also presented to several league members for their many years of service to the Catholic Women's League: Irene Gerein - 60 years, Rose Reiniger - 40 years, Mary Nestmann - 40 years, Mary Cey - 25 years.
