Springtime a time to get moving

Is springtime all about people moving? Ann and Earl Van Nortwick are taking the plunge after living on the farm for many decades. They definitely deserve to live at a slower pace and enjoy themselves at Caleb Manor in North Battleford. They will certainly not be strangers, because there are people they know at this facility.

Yoga is starting another eight-week session with Louise Sylvester from North Battleford as instructor. There will be no classes March 31 and April 7. For more information, call Teresa Toews at 306-246-4812.

Desiree (Michael) Lieffers of Saskatoon gave birth to a baby boy seven weeks early. Baby Lenzen was brought into the world March 3 weighing 5 lbs., 5 oz., which is considered a good size under these circumstances. Dave and Maryann are the proud grandparents and Sally Mischuk of Battleford the great-grandmother. The baby is expected to be released from the hospital in a couple of weeks. Congratulations to the family and we hope everything goes well.

Sharon Babij, Victor Pushee and Jacqui enjoyed the sights and sounds at Radium Hot Springs. They returned March 13. Calving season is in full swing for Peter, but Sharon managed to take a break from the farm. Lucky girl!

Many farmers are reporting the cows are producing a few sets of twins, which hopefully will add up to a bit of a bonus. Ask how many times that bottle feeding becomes necessary to add to their list of daily chores. And this can become a very demanding job. Spring is all about new baby animals getting a chance to see what the world is all about.
