Spring not here yet

A light blanket of snow covered the ground once again Sunday morning and the temperature at the moment is -5 C. Mother Nature has fooled us with a few fine days that didn't last, but which made us think spring was here.

Anyone watching the night skies lately, particularly Thursday evening, April 10, would have noticed some interesting things. There were some very bright stars and what appeared to be an eclipse of the moon. Other evenings during the week were cloudy.

While some winter travellers have returned home, others are just leaving to spend time in the south. Murray and Lynn Blyth arrived home from Arizona a couple of weeks ago. It will be some time before Murray will be able to resume golfing again.

Any birds that have arrived from the south will be feeling chilly. There are lots of crows and geese. Christine Pike saw a robin today. I am sure it must have been feeling rather chilly.

Maureen Bexson was a guest of her sister, Christine Pike, for a couple of days on the weekend. They enjoyed the quilt show in Maidstone and the antique show in Lloydminster.
