Our Sons of Norway members rented a van for a five-day trip to the Hostfest in Minot, North Dakota, leaving on Sept. 29. Eight of us stayed at a private home while two lodged with another family.

We enjoyed lots of good entertainment, music, artisan works, shopping and food (even lutefisk). While there, among hundreds of people, we met several friends from Saskatchewan and Alberta, also there to enjoy the festival.

Our favourite entertainers were Daniel O'Donnell, Williams and Ree (Indian and the White Guy), the Western Senators and Bjoro Haaland. This is the 37th year of Hostfest in Minot.

Taking in the trip and show from this area were Sven and Cora Christiansen, Dave and Marion Ottas, Rita Peterson, Yvonne MacPherson, Gwen Lacerte, Janice Morton, Arlene Walker and our driver Vernon Iverson.
