With the increasing cost of living today, isn't it nice to find something for free? Something the whole family can enjoy? Do you like to read books? Are you commuting back and forth to work? You can pass the time by listening to an audio book. Or do you like movie nights with family and friends? You can get all of these for free at your local library. With our new library system you can have access to these from the whole province with the exception of DVDs. These are available from within our region only.
You just have to have an active library card. The library card is also free.
You can place holds in the comfort of your home.
All you have to do is go to www.lakeland.lib.sk.ca and click on search the catalogue. Search for the items that you want, click on the items and click request. You will be prompted to put in your library card and PIN number (which you can ask your librarian for). Remember to select the library where you want to pick up your items. A hold will be placed for you and when available sent to you at your library.
Do not be upset if there are numerous holds for this item as Lakeland patrons will get Lakeland items before they are sent to anyone else in the province. You will be notified by email, phone or regular mail when your item is ready for pickup. You can decide which way you want to be notified.
If you can't find an item in our catalogue that you want, don't worry. We can bring the item in from anywhere in North America, if it is available, or we can consider purchasing the item. Again, at no cost to you. To request an item that is not available go to www.lakeland.lib.sk.ca and click on search the catalogue. On the right hand side of the screen you will see MY LIBRARY, below that is "Can't find it". Click on that, log in with your library card and enter the title, author and any other information that you have regarding that item. We will do our best to get that item for you.
So, make some popcorn and get a movie from your library. If you are travelling, gardening, doing crafts or even walking, listen to an audio book. Imagine curling up under a warm blanket with a good book. All of which can be found free at your library. Support your local library.
