Some have completed harvest

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day with little wind. It is wonderful to have good harvest weather continuing. A few farmers have completed their harvesting operations.

John Evans left on the weekend after spending a week with his parents, Eileen and Keith Evans helping with the harvest. John's wife, Calinda and son Logan accompanied him here but returned to their home in Calgary so that she could be back at work.

It is with regret that we report the death of Bernice Hope. She passed away in the hospital in Maidstone Sept. 20. For most of her life Bernice and her late husband, Ed, farmed in the Forest Bank District and raised their family, helping with all community events and enjoying recreational activities. Funeral service for Bernice will be held in Waseca Hall on Friday, Sept 27 at 2 p.m. Our sympathy is extended to all family members and to her many friends.

Terry and René Pike and Wayne and Jane Pike spent a few days in Toronto enjoying watching the Bluejays ball games. Christine Pike and Maureen Bexson spent the weekend in Meadow Lake attending the annual meeting of Nature Saskatchewan, The meeting was sponsored by the Junior Forest Wardens assisted by Vanessa Currie of Paynton. Features of the meeting included travelling to see reforestation projects and canoeing on Pagan Lake.
