Rose Gill Lodge was the place to be on the evening on March 1. Twenty-eight people gathered for a Kaiser tournament. The proceeds from the night went to the residents' fund. Gwendolyn Laughlin had the high hand, James Hanson came in second and Leonard McNabb came in third. Claus Spielmann holds the other dubious honour. Dave Rohd was the winner of the 50-50 draw.

Yes we had enough snow for the Rabbit Lake Agricultural Association snowmobile rally. A total of 340 riders challenged the trail. It is a great sight to see all the streets in the village filled with trucks and Main Street filled with snow machines. A big thanks to all the riders who came to support the Ag Society and an even bigger thanks to all the volunteers who worked at making the day a big success.

The winner of the 50-50 draw valued at $1,250.50 was Taylor Conacher of Spiritwood. The winner of the $7,500 first prize was Glenn Morrison of Denholm, the second prize of $3,500 went to Norman Magnus of Leoville and the third prize winner of $1,500 was Josh Kowerchuk of Maidstone. The rider prizes of $300 went to Kylie Salisbury at check point one and Kadin Schmaltz of Kindersley won the $500 from checkpoint two. Congratulations to all the winners.

The day ended with a packed hall enjoying a delicious roast beef supper and the awarding of more than 50 door prizes all donated by businesses in Rabbit Lake and surrounding communities. Joan Dzialo thanked all the businesses for their generous support.

On March 9 there will be a dance at the Rabbit Lake Community Hall, sponsored by Rose Gill Lodge. The old time music will be provided by the Rhythm-Airs. This sounds like a fun way to shake those winter blues and to have some fun!
