Snowmobile rallies are coming up in the Borden area. The Borden Community Centre preservation committee with the help of the Borden Parks and Rec. Board hosts one Jan. 19. The rally starts at 10 a.m.

Snowmobile rallies are coming up in the Borden area. The Borden Community Centre preservation committee with the help of the Borden Parks and Rec. Board hosts one Jan. 19. The rally starts at 10 a.m. at Borden Community Centre, with the last rider to be out by 2 p.m. and everyone in by 5 p.m. Food services are open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the hall; gas and food are available at the checkpoint. Rider prizes will be given out at 5 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to the ham supper, 5 - 7 p.m., and there will be a deejay playing music from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m., with the bar open 10 a.m. until midnight. Tickets are $10 each and prizes are 25 per cent, 15 per cent and 10 per cent of entries. Call Gloria at 997-2021 for more information or go online. Proceeds go to ongoing renovations at the community centre.

Orolow Hall is holding their annual rally Feb. 2 at the hall northeast of Borden, or 12 miles south of Krydor. Riders go out from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will be special prizes for riders. Tickets are $10 each or three for $25. Prizes are 25 per cent, 15 per cent and 10 per cent of entries. Call Peter at 997-5703 or Lorne at 497-3503 for more information.

Action Bowl Winter League starts the week of Jan. 7, Mondays - Wednesdays. If you haven't entered your name for league play, call Kendall Redhead at 997-4405.

The downstairs of the community centre is now renovated with bathrooms, kitchenette, storage rooms and the Busy Bees Preschool classroom. The wheelchair lift will soon be up and running, making the downstairs fully wheelchair accessible.

Happy birthday this week to John Newbold who turned 99 Jan. 2. His sister Olive Foley is here staying with him through January. Cake and coffee were served at John's home Jan. 2. There was also cake and free coffee at the Seniors' Room the morning of Jan. 2 to celebrate Lorraine Olinyk turning 75 Jan. 1. Also having birthdays at Borden or Saskatoon Jan. 1 were Wendell Dyck, Noel Hunchak, Rusty Lund and Ann Pidwerbesky. Celebrating with John Jan. 2 was Louise Saunders.
