Snow just keeps piling up

As is everywhere, the snow plows have been busy in the village. If the snowfall continues as it has done so far, the amount of snow around by spring will be something we have not seen for some years. The Yellowhead Ramblers band has been busy.

The Yellowhead Ramblers band has been busy. Besides regular practices they have played at a fundraiser in Paynton and Points West home in Lloydminster. Wednesday they played at the Pensioners and Pioneer Hall in North Battleford.

Curling is well underway and several people from the area are curling in both Maidstone and Lashburn.

The McPherson-Maxwell family keep busy. Both Lynn and Julie are taking university classes. Besides classes, Julie works for a greenhouse, plays in the Saskatoon Fiddle Orchestra and is teaching piano as a volunteer in inner city schools in Saskatoon.

Lynn is working on a double major in studio art and art history as well as doing an internship with an art studio. Every hour of their days must be full.

Their parents, Jim and Jean, visit them frequently. Recently they travelled to Prince Albert to visit with Jean's aunt.

Nov. 9, they attended a 50th anniversary celebration for the Saskatoon Community Clinic. The guest speaker for the occasion was a well-known, long-time activist, Stephen Lewis, who spoke on the history of medicare in Saskatchewan. He praised the Saskatoon Community Clinic for its work in the community. The clinic is well supported in the city and is expanding. The event was held at the Credit Union Centre.
