Shuffleboard tourney draws nine teams

Hi there! Brrr, it's been really cold in Novmeber, especially those winds. And where did the sun go? We certainly didn't have many sunny days. Oh well, we'll just hope for better weather in December. November was a busy month in Tower II.

Hi there! Brrr, it's been really cold in Novmeber, especially those winds. And where did the sun go? We certainly didn't have many sunny days. Oh well, we'll just hope for better weather in December.

November was a busy month in Tower II.

We enjoyed a shuffleboard tournament Nov. 13 and 14. Nine teams signed up , which was great. The winners were: A event - Mary Dearborn and Bev McCrimmon, Stella Gall and Edith Lockhart; B event - Alice Bernier and Ada Pasutto, Murray McCrimmon and Delia; C event - Marie Child and Ruby Hrabia, Doug Vetter and Marvin Phillips. Congratulations to you all and thank you to all the subs. I don't know what we would have done without you.

Also a big thank you to Barb Foot, Mary Dearborn and Mary Birch, who served the delicious lunches at noon both days.

Our birthday party for October, November and December celebrants was held on the afternoon of Nov. 19. Our celebrants seated at the head table were Albert Freebal, William Labbe, Bob Sarrasin, Joe Thomas, Helen Blackstock, Murray McCrimmon, Dave Gregory, Rosemarie Rolheiser, Maxine Finch and Barb Foot.

Entertaining were members of the Eagle Hills Band - Edna, Joan and Neil. We have them often because we love them and their music.

Thank you to everyone who helps at the birthday party. They are those who set up the tables and chairs, the ladies who serve the desserts, tea and coffee. Also a special thank you to Judy Slind who baked four angle food cakes for us. I do appreciate you all. Without you the birthday party wouldn't be such a success.

George and Nancy Milnthorp travelled to Melfort the weekend of Oct. 19 to visit their granddaughter Stacy and Dan Myers. While there they watched great-grandson Tyson play hockey and volleyball.

Get well wishes go out to Bob Sarrasin, who goes for treatment at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. The best of health to you Bob, and we hope you will soon be well and home again.

Welcome to all newcomers to Tower II. Be sure to come down to the lounge for coffee in the morning or afternoon and become acquainted with the other residents. We'd be glad to meet you.

My next report will be at the end of December, so I do hope you will have a wonderful Christmas. I'm looking forward to lots of news about your holidays next month. I'm a very nosy reporter, you know.

See you next month.
