One of Irelenad's longest running traditional performing families entertained a crowd of children and adults at the Maymont Memorial Hall Dec. 2. The Corvenieos Circus, better known as McCormick Corvenieos, go back over 700 years entertaining in Ireland and now are on their first visit to Canada. It was an entertaining performance and popcorn and cotton candy made the circus complete.

Maymont Central School Christmas concert was held Dec. 19 and as always the children are a joy to watch. Thank you everyone who worked so hard to make this possible.

Ruddell's potluck supper was held Dec. 20 and it was an enjoyable evening. Thank you to all those who organize and help for this event.

Sadness filled our world Dec. 14 as our thought and prayers are with anyone who has lost a child in Newtown, Conn. "When God calls little children to dwell with him above, we mortals sometime question the wisdom of his love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child, who does so much to make our world, seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold, so He picks a rosebud, before he can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but a few, to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try. The saddest word mankind knows will always be 'Goodbye.' So when a little child departs we who are left behind, must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find."
