Sharpshooters claim turkey prizes

The Speers and District Recreation Board held their annual turkey shoot Nov. 26 and 27 with 98 turkeys being won by sharpshooters aiming at pie plate targets. They also had a roulette wheel.

The Speers and District Recreation Board held their annual turkey shoot Nov. 26 and 27 with 98 turkeys being won by sharpshooters aiming at pie plate targets. They also had a roulette wheel. Ham sandwiches, pie and coffee were sold throughout the shoot. Many thanks to the volunteers who made the turkey shoot a success and to all who participated.

This year's winners on the Grey Cup draw were Richard Rivetts $50 on the first quarter, Jennie Primau $100 on the second quarter, George Langley $50 on the third quarter and Sheila Miller $300 on the fourth. Congratulations to all the winners.

The Remembrance Day service was held in Hafford this year with the Speers and District United Church taking part, singing The Lord's Prayer.

Colleen and Norman Wicks travelled to Prince Albert Nov. 13 to attend the 50th birthday party for Norman's daughter, Janet.

Get well wishes go out to Maimie Dove of Speers who is presently in the hospital.

The Speers and District Recreation Board will be holding their annual Christmas Jam Session Dec. 17. Everyone is welcome to attend.
