Several residents nursing broken bones

Now the snow is melting every day so we should soon have drier streets and walks. The town man does a remarkable job of moving the snow around and keeping the streets as good as possible.

Every village is having the same problem with icy ruts and water build up.There is also a quad that works around moving snow with his blade that helps out a lot. Folks really appreciate the efforts of these fellows as travel by vehicle or on foot is rather treacherous in the spring. There have been a few broken bones recently, not only here but all around as reported by one of our casualties waiting to get her arm set in North Battleford. We wish them all speedy recoveries as they will all be wanting to be more around outside with spring just around the corner.

A woman from Fort St. John, B.C. has won the world championship in wheelchair curling, in Sochi Olympics. She uses a longer stick than those who play sturling, ordinarily would use.

Kaiser was played last Friday afternoon with top scores by Lorna Pearson, then Sally Bouvier, from Carstairs, Alta. and Linda Ard.We had a fun time and hope now the weather has become nicer more folks will be turning out. Everyone should get out daily to appreciate the wonderful fresh air we have.

Top scores at Canasta March 14 went to Sally Bouvier and Robert Iverson. In second were Sonya Bouvier of Calgary, Alta. and Charles Walker and in third were John Soloninko and Lorna Pearson. It was a pleasant evening with lots of laughter and a nice lunch after.

How wonderful to have my daughter and granddaughter here over the weekend, we played cards and had fun. Sonya helped me with the computer quite a bit and Sal managed the kitchen.

Yvette Lessard has had family around to help her since she's handicapped with a cast on her right arm. They are taking her in for physiotherapy treatments.Marion Iverson has her left arm in a cast and sling, so her hubby has extra responsibilities now, too.

The Spring Supper held at the community hall March 16 was well attended and lots of socializing went on. It's so nice to see folks who haven't been out much this winter. Pearl was back in her apron with enthusiastic help from a great many people. The beef roast was super good as were the salads and all the vegetables andtrimmings. The younger girls did a good job of collecting paper plates after the meal, so a hand for them.

Contract bridge was played Monday evening at the Do Drop In with top score by Warren Iverson and second by Robert Iverson.

People are still taking holidays or returning from holidays. When life gets back to normal and they can enjoy the spring-like weather and look forward to gardening season or farming. It's also bull sale time around the different stockyards.
