The November meeting of the Battleford Hillcrest Seniors welcomed surprise visitors Maurice and his wife of Edam.

Corbeil represents the SSAI region.

Several topics were brought up. After a lengthy discussion about the bus service in North Battleford, it was decided to contact the Don McMorris, minister of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company concerning the closing of the facility when customers are waiting for a taxi, other pick-ups or a late arriving bus. These customers must wait outside, often in freezubg weather. There is also a safety issue as the phone outside apparently does not always work and not everyone carries a cellphone.

The Hillcrest building needs reshingling. Several estimates have been procured and the cost will be around $9,000. This can't be done until spring and it is hoped that the club will be able to get a government New Horizons Grant to cover most of the cost.

We have three shuffleboards, but use only one so two will be offered to the Outreach Centre in North Battleford.

About 10 of the club's singers teamed up to form the community choir at the Remembrance Day service at St. Vital School Nov. 11. They also entertained at the November birthday Party at the Battlefords and District Care Centre when the Battleford United Church hosted the lunch.

The knitting group will be having a table at the Co-op Mall Thursday, Dec. 6, where numerous items will be for sale.

The December meeting is on Tuesday, Dec. 11 and the Christmas potluck supper will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. Hope to see you there
