Seniors gathered in Maymont enjoy fellowship and a meal Aug. 27.

Seniors got together in Maymont for an afternoon of entertainment and a potluck supper. Seniors from Borden, Radisson and surrounding areas joined the Maymont seniors. The seniors gave great reviews about the entertainment and the food. Gifts were handed out to all visiting seniors.

Special thanks to the Maymont seniors and entertainers who worked so hard to make this a great success. I'm sure everyone will be back again next year.

Now that school is in, I thought maybe the school bus drivers might like to read this. They probably know it off by heart - just kidding.

A Bus Drivers Prayer - Author Unknown

Please, watch me this day. Please help me remember to watch all five mirrors, two dozen windows, eight gauges, six warning lights, six dozen faces, three lanes of traffic and to keep a third eye open for wobbling bicycles and daydreaming pedestrians, especially teenagers wearing headsets who are in another world.

Please help me hear all train whistles, truck and automobile horns, police sirens and the two-way radio. Please also let me hear when one of my students calls for me and just needs a listening ear.

Please give me a hand for the gear lever, the steering wheel, the route book, the radio microphone and the turn-signal lever, while being able to hand out Kleenexes, pencils or other things the kids may need.

And please grant me the self-control to keep my hands away from Johnny's neck when he's pinching and biting Billy, while trying to keep everybody in their seat and reminding them that sticking their head outside the window is not safe. And one more thing, please don't let Mary be sick all over the bus. And finally please watch over us all so that we can do it again next year.

Maymont Legends of Country 3 tickets are now available. Please call Carol or Mel for tickets or more information; if no one is home, please leave a message. This event will happen Oct. 6 at the Maymont Hall. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. Remember that the last two shows sold out.

Door prizes this year include a one night stay at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel in Saskatoon - good for a date night or it could be saved when going into Saskatoon to Xmas shop - we also have a leaf blower which will come in handy this time of year.

Great entertainment again this year - artists performing will be Larry Symynuk singing Gene Watson, Gill Brothers (Copper Creek) singing Everly Brothers, Dan McConnell singing Waylon, Gerald Wiebe singing Johnny Reid, Joan Rice singing Wynonna. No Elvis this time but maybe something else will be on the program. Please join us. I'm sure you'll be very entertained.
