A potluck supper and jam session was held Sept. 25 at the Maymont Seniors' Hall. Entertainment was provided by Russ Fountain, Mel Deagnon, Tom Caldwell and Bert Carpentier. There was great food, entertainment and fellowship.
Eleanor Spence, Eleanor's sister Ilene, Darrell Spence, Lana Spence, Kirk and Lorraine Johnston travelled to Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. June 22 for the celebration of Arnold and Shirley Johnston's 50th wedding anniversary. They had a great supper, lots of cocktails and a dance. A few of the diehards continued the festivities late into the evening. All of Arnold's sisters and brothers were at the event.
As I write this article Sept. 26, half of the supper tickets are already gone for our legends event. If you can't make it for the supper, come and join us for the evening entertainment. The Village of Maymont announces, with regret, the resignation of administrator Wendy Davis. In the interim, we welcome Darrin Beaudoin as acting administrator. The village office will be open Fridays only from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until a permanent administrator is hired. Please join us in wishing Wendy all the best and welcoming Darrin to our village.
