Seniors gather for New Year's Eve

I am here! I am here, ready or not, but once past, I shall never return again. How will you use the precious gift of time that I extend to you? In each hour of 365 days, I will give you 60 minutes.

Kari Carpentier, Marg Vanderveen, Mary Carpentier and Carol Deagnon enjoyed the fun at the Maymont Seniors' New Year's Eve celebration.

I am here! I am here, ready or not, but once past, I shall never return again. How will you use the precious gift of time that I extend to you? In each hour of 365 days, I will give you 60 minutes. It remains for you to fill them with 60 seconds of hope, love, honest endeavour, patience, trust in God and kindness to your fellow man. I am the New Year, clean and unspoiled, unused in anyway. Each day I will provide a new leaf in your book of life and upon these pages you will place your imprint.

The Maymont seniors held a New Year's Eve do with great success. Many played cards, listened to music and just socialized. Howard Bulmer brought the New Year in sounding great with Old Lang Syne. We missed some of our seniors but it was a cold, cold night to be out and about.

Tickets were sold for a 50/50 draw through the seniors. The winning ticket was drawn New Year's Eve at the seniors' centre and the winner was Dale Beaudoin. Congratulations, Dale.

There were also tickets sold on behalf of the library for a gift basket. The winner was Dawn Gray.

Sarah, hope you're healing from your fall.
