Get set for a lively evening at the Chapel Gallery when Saskia and Darrel: Great Plains bring their Song of the Prairie show to the stage June 7 at 7 p.m.
Saskia and Darrel are certainly no strangers to the North Battleford area as they lived in Maymont for five years while they entertained rooms full of concert goers at community halls and churches in the area.
The show is billed as, "an evening full of friendship and laughter."
Saskia and Darrel deliver a fun blend of music, an unpredictable series of songs that change every time you see them. They entertain their audience with tales about cabin fever, prairie elevators, war brides, patchwork quilts or Louis Riel and then surprisingly break into Swiss yodeling, or sing in Gaelic, Spanish, Dutch, German or French. ?
Great Plains is a veteran touring act, and according to promotional material perform with an easy, crowd-friendly style that instantly endears them to any audience.
Their music is true Canadiana - a taste of country, a sprinkle of Celtic, a dab of bluegrass and engaging stories wrapped around enjoyable melodies.
