North Battleford's Chapel Gallery will host the Saskatchewan Craft Council's Dimensions Exhibition sometime after Aug. 25 featuring work by Premier's Prize winner Annemarie Buchmann-Gerber.

Buchmann-Gerber from Saskatoon has been selected as the winner of the prize for the most outstanding work in SCC's Dimensions for her mixed media tapestry "Homo Sapiens on Stitches."

The $3,000 award is sponsored by the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, and was one of 13 awards presented at a gala ceremony and reception at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina.

"Dimensions showcases the very best fine craft produced in Saskatchewan," said SCC board chair Rodney Peterson. "The 35 pieces on display represent the best work in craft (media) ranging from woodworking to jewellery, from textiles to ceramics, selected from 202 entries submitted by 123 artists."

Dimensions is the province's only open, juried, touring exhibition of fine Saskatchewan craft. This year's jurors were Michael Hosaluk from Saskatoon and Susan Rankin from Apsley, Ont. Both jurors are nationally respected and known for their unique, experimental work.
