Sailing clubhouse offers much to community

On Aug. 19 my granddaughter, Sonya Bouvier, from Calgary, and I spent a nice evening with Bev and Bernard Nash and their son Clinton, at the Battlefords Sailing Club clubhouse in Meota. Sonya was invited to join them for her first sailboat ride, which she really enjoyed. Later we joined the family to partake of Bernard's birthday cake, along with several other folks.

The picture is of the newly painted picnic table, done by Kathy Saretzky, a kayaker from Saskatoon. She spends a few hours daily on the lake in her kayak and stores it in the clubhouse.

This facility has much to offer the community with the full kitchen, lounge area with a pool table, huge deck, men's and women's showers, the sandy beach and picnic tables that are included when you rent the facility.

Membership is most reasonable and makes one think it would pay to belong, and of course they are looking for members to share their club advantages. They have for use kayaks, sailboats and windsurfers and offer storage of sails and equipment.
