The weather is not only beautiful for our Halloween visitors, but the fall season has been great for those who enjoy the round of fall suppers. One of the last of these is the Waseca fall supper that will take place Sunday, Nov. 6.

Thank you to the Battlefords News-Optimist for hosting a fall luncheon for those who are correspondents for the paper. Not only do we enjoy the meal, but also meeting with the correspondents we see only once a year at this event. This year, following the luncheon, we toured the News-Optimist and enjoyed watching the paper being printed and seeing all the modern equipment now being used in the plant.

The village office will be sporting a new sign. There has not been a sign on the office since the building was taken over by the village when the credit union moved out.

Many people have already received the two DVD set made at Waseca's centennial celebrations. Good reviews have been given regarding these DVDs. They were made by Mervin Hinde. One is a history of the area and the other records many of the events that took pace at the celebration. The DVDs are available at the Waseca village office. Centennial cookbooks are also available there.

Waseca rink is still in the processs of having a "face lift." Those who are working on it are hoping to have it ready when the weather is cold enough to put in the ice. Natural ice requires a lot of work when the weather is well below zero.

It was good to see so many people come out to get a flu shot at Waseca's Wellness Clinic Oct. 20. For those who were not able to come that day, the shots are still available well into November at certain locations.
