At times pictures speak louder than words. The Wilkie Minor Hockey Day took place Dec. 22. The rink filled early in the morning, with parents and fans coming out to support the teams, and emptied late in the evening with some of the crowd filtering out to enjoy wing night at the Saskcan Community Centre. With hardworking players, lucky 50/50 winners and, of course, delicious rink food, the day was a success.
Wilkie Minor Hockey sponsored the giveaway of two hockey sticks which were drawn for during the peewee game. Congratulations to the two local children who took them home.
Scores were as follows: initiation, Macklin 15 - Wilkie 10; novice, Biggar 8 - Wilkie 6; atom: Biggar 4 - Wilkie 7; peewee, Outlook 7 - Wilkie 0; and the final game, Meadow Lake 2 - Wilkie Outlaws 12.
