The residents and staff at Caleb Village are keeping warm and busy so far this winter.
December was a busy month of entertainment and activities. We enjoyed the Jubilation Handbell Ringers, Battle River Cloggers, Country Cousins, Erin Foreman and her fiddle students, the Meota Lions Chorus and, ending the year, we had a New Year's Eve dance with the Rhythm Ramblers.
January activities included a shuffleboard tournament, pool tournament, bingo, musical entertainment, trips to the malls and a ladies' spa day. For musical entertainment we welcomed Keeping it Country, the Meota Hobby Band and The Night Drifters. We invite the general public to any of our entertainment, so come and kick up your heels or just sit back and enjoy some great music.
In February we are having a Valentine's supper and dance featuring Carmel Country. This will take place Feb. 13 with a silent auction starting at 4 p.m., supper at 5 p.m. and dance to follow. Tickets are $15 and are available at Caleb Village, 1802 - 106th St. or phone 306-445-2088.
Also in February, the John Archer Trio will be playing on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and a monthly birthday party will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. with entertainment as well. David McDonald, one of our residents, will be displaying his carvings in the bistro area Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. he will display his collection of carvings by other artists. He's very talented and you will be glad that you came to check this out.
Caleb Village residents and staff have been fundraising for Telemiracle since December and have raised over $350 so far. We challenge other retirement communities to meet or beat our donation.
Have a good February everyone. Spring is just around the corner.
