Much appreciated is the work done almost every day by the maintenance personnel of the North Battleford Housing Authority. They can be seen plowing and shovelling vast quantities of snow from the parking lots and clearing the sidewalks of ice for our safety and comfort.

February was heart and stroke month. To help support this worthy endeavour, donations were collected in the lounge Feb. 19.

On a chilly evening of February 20, the sounds of peppy country dance music filled the air. The Three Gents were performing at the birthday party honouring the special days of those born in December, January and February. A few folks could not resist taking to the dance floor. Happy birthday to all celebrants of these months.

Pool is a popular pastime here. We have some champions, of whom we are justly proud. On the evening of Feb. 16, these worthies got together and staged a little tournament. The results are: A event - Raphael Kalichuk and Alice Horn, Les Wall and Lillian Leduc; B event - Dorreen Svare and Louis Johnson; Lois Sherwood and Marj Byhette.

We are mindful of the residents who are in the hospital and some seeking respite care. We hope they will soon be well.

The first floor area is now wearing attractive bright green decorations in keeping with St. Patrick's Day. Thanks to those who share their creativity to help keep things looking nice.

Feb. 28 was a day to which we have been looking forward. We do enjoy our shuffleboard tournaments. Some work was involved as evidenced by the aroma of hot dogs, beans and soups being prepared. Thanks to the cooks and helpers in the kitchen. The task of caring for the board and stones fell to Joan Bannerman as well as keeping score and continual subbing. The referees, Winnie Hamm, Alice Horn and Phyllis Maloney, kept things running smoothly. Winners and runners-up include: A event - Phyllis Maloney and Amelie Murray, Alice Horn and sub; B event - Dorreen Svare and Isobel Jones; Ken Elliott and sub; C event - Winnie Hamm and Raphael Kalichuk; Joyce Campbell and Mae Johnson; D event - Karen Taylor and Mary Zawada; Betty Moore and Minnie Pazdrowsky.
