Residents enjoy many holiday visitors

Hi there! Happy new year everyone! Do hope you had a merry Christmas in spite of the cold weather and all the snow. I think though by the length of my report many of the tenants here did.

Hi there! Happy new year everyone! Do hope you had a merry Christmas in spite of the cold weather and all the snow. I think though by the length of my report many of the tenants here did.

Shirley Tebay spent a lovely Christmas with her son Gary and daughter-in-law Roberta and family at the farm.

Edith Lockhart was happy to have her family here for Christmas. She had great-grandchildren staying for a few days, too. Lots of fun I'll bet, Edith.

Barb Foot spent her Christmas with family in Battleford. I'm sure you would have a great time Barb.

Judy Slind enjoyed Christmas with her brother and family at Prince.

Mildred Kleiv had her Christmas Eve with a grandson and family in Battleford, then Christmas Day with her daughter in North Battleford. It's nice to get together with family at this time of the year.

Maxine Finch had her family and friends celebrating Christmas in the lounge on the ninth floor. I'm sure it was a wonderful time for all who attended.

Laurine Wohlberg and her family from Maymont spent their Christmas party here in the lounge Dec. 26. There's no doubt you'd all have such a joyful time together, Laurine.

Ann Ewanchuk continues to be a busy lady. She visits at River Heights Lodge and likes to watch the North Stars play hockey. She's grateful to Susan and Gerald Koliniak, who drive her to the games.

She also attended birthday parties, one at seniors' night at Slawa Centre and the other at Tower II. Also a harvest supper, entertainment and dance at the Alex Dillabough Centre. She donated a large pastry basket that was won by Lisa Stadler of Radisson. Also, a pastry box for Ukranian Orthodox Church Christmas Bake Sale. The winner was Maria Prescesky.

While working at BUH as a volunteer, she met Ann Yaramchuk, a friend from Vernon, B.C. The last time they saw one another was a wedding in 1949.

She attended a lovely Christmas Eve supper at Ray and Doris Jordan's, her daughter Erinka's (and Rory) in-laws. On Christmas Day, she had supper at Ed and Maureen's (in-laws) place. Thanks to Chris and Orest for driving her there.

The new year of 2013 will be a welcoming one for new babies. Two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In August, Evhan and Debbie's son Michael got married to Keagan Cave in Whitefish Resort, Mont. Granddaughter Sheena Ewanchuk got engaged to Scott.

At the last service in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the congregation had a memorial service for the little children who were killed in Connecticut.

Ann wishes all readers a happy new year.

Ada Pasutto spent Christmas Eve with daughter Carol, Brian Morrison and family. Also present were Brian's mom Mary and brother Ray Morrison. They all enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Carol.

On Christmas Day, Ada travelled to Lloydminster with Carol, Brian and family to spend the day with her other two daughters and their families at her granddaughter's house. They all had a day filled with gift opening, games and plenty of food. She is planning to return to Lloydminster to bring in the new year with daughter Marina Hewson.

It sounds like you had a lovely time with your family, Ada.

I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my daughter and family in Battleford. My granddaughters and my great-granddaughter travelled from Red Deer, Alta. to be with us. Also, my other daughter and son-in-law from North Battleford were present. Lovely gifts and delicious food were the order of the day. A good time was had by all. Also, it was so nice to see my son David and wife Betty from Flin Flon, Man. to visit in the holidays.

Christmas 2012 for the McCrimmon's in No. 102 was great with their three sons joining them. One is from Meadow Lake and one from North Battleford. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild were a lot of fun.

Very interesting was identical twin boys aged seven years, who came with their third son. It was a wonderful Christmas for them. Their grandson stopped in on his way home from Prince Albert to Lloydminster. It was great to see him, too. It sounds like you had a real nice time together folks.

George and Mary Milnthorpe had their son Marvin and wife and Nathan from Meadow Lake visit for Christmas dinner then returned the visit to Meadow Lake Dec. 29. Grandson Brett and Ashley were home from Edmonton, so they had a grand visit.

Mary Dearborn reported that on Dec. 22 she had Christmas dinner with her daughter and son-in-law Norma and Wayne Combres and their son Kyle and Jennifer and family at Maymont. Also, there were Kurt, Carrie and family from Humboldt as well as Kim, Tyler Voegeli and girls from Ruddell. On Christmas, after she spent time with her brother Victor Ricketts at the hospital, Shelly Bachelder was kind and invited Mary to her place for a turkey supper. Thank you Shelly.

Get well wishes go out to those who have been hospitalized with flu or are just recovering at home.

We are also thinking of Bob Sarrasin who is still in the hospital in Saskatoon. We hope he will soon be well again.

Ada Pasutto broke her wrist awhile back, so hope that will soon be healed.

I would like to wish you all a very happy, healthy new year!
