I grew up on a small farm in the Kinistino district. I was the youngest of three children and always enjoyed the outdoors and the beauty of the prairie landscape.
I graduated high school and worked as a nurse's aide at the hospital at home. I then commenced work at Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford, graduating as a registered psychiatric nurse in 1960.
I married my farmer George and together we raised four children, two sons and two daughters.
I have always been interested in drawing and joined the Battlefords Art Club in 1978. My first instructor was Nora Krake, who taught us some basics and encouraged my interest in painting in all media.
I'm presently doing acrylics as I love the vibrant colours and prairie scenes are my first love. I'm also doing pastels.
I've enjoyed lessons from Kevin Quinlan, Nettie Harder, Clint Hunker, Graham Flatt, Karen Richtor, Doreen Kalmakoff, Rosemarie Stadnyk and Dean Bauche, always learning valuable lessons and hints from each.
I find portraiture a challenge and hope to do more in that line.
We have a wonderful club and enjoy each other and our constructive criticism.
