RBC Foundation has donated $18,000 toward programming and operations at the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club.

Customer Service manager Wallace Chow presented the cheque and gave a tour of the North Battleford RBC branch to children and staff members of the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club.

"Our club and our community are grateful to have RBC investing in us," said Sheri Woolridge, executive director.

"The Battlefords Boys and Girls Club is hoping to build on the partnership by expanding our after school program to incorporate more of a homework element and investing in our children, allowing them to see more opportunities and discover their potential."

This 2013-14 school year is the ninth consecutive year for the RBC Foundation's investment in the after school program, bringing the total investment from RBC to exceed $60,000 over the last decade.

According to a press release, the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit agency created to provide for the recreational, cultural, educational and social needs of all children six to 14 years of age in the community.

Wooldridge says the organization works to provide opportunities where children can socialize with one another in a safe and nurturing environment.
