Rash of break-ins causes more vigilance among residents

The library still has free books and magazines for loan. When the older ones are replaced with new ones, the old ones are sent to The Lighthouse or to the food bank in Turtleford.

The rug has been cleaned at the Do Drop In and extra care is being taken not to drop or spill as this is not a cheap undertaking. A donation from Winston Tait is appreciated by the senior group. A short log spotted in the top of the spruce tree behind the hall is being taken care of.

The need for food hampers at Turtleford has increased, but the group is dealing with it as best they can.

People are having to be more cautious about locking up their vehicles and homes and outbuildings as there has been a rash of break-ins in the area. Keep in touch with your neighbours and let them know when you'll be away, so they can watch for unexplained activity. Heed the advice about putting valuables in the trunk of your car, out of sight.

The lights around the village are making the village brighter and nice to drive about. One set north of Main Street is very nicely done up.

Duplicate bridge played Dec. 15 found top score going to Jetta and Terence Dasilva, second high Eric Callbeck and Margaret Dyck and third to Robert Iverson and Joyce Antoine. There were four tables in play. It was a nice turnout.

Beulah Corbeil hosted a 鈥淟amsie party鈥 with five of her friends Dec. 16. They had a nice social afternoon and tea, their last for this year.

The hours are changing at the local credit union office starting in the new year. They are closed Tuesday and Thursday, open Monday and Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed over noon hour each day.

The condos are getting wrapped, so progress continues daily. The new house had not arrived yet last week.

My trip out to Carstairs, Atla. was beautiful with heavy hoar frost on the trees and not too cold yet. Getting together with some of my family daily is wonderful.
