A few nice rains along with cooler weather have been enjoyed. The rain came in good time. One can see the difference in crops and gardens. We were very fortunate as many parts of the province and elsewhere are still very dry.
It鈥檚 saskatoon and pincherry picking time. The saskatoons are very good and plentiful this year. They must like the dry weather. Pincherries are also easy picking.
I travelled to Frenchman Butte last Wednesday. Besides picking saskatoons and pincherries, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way.
Maureen Bexson of Strome, Alta., spent a few days visiting with her sister, Christine Pike. They attended the draft horse show at the Lloydminster Exhibition July 10, where Maureen presented the 鈥淟ast Shoe鈥 trophy to the winners on behalf of her late husband, Rusty Bexson.
This week Maureen is attending the lily convention in Calgary. It is the Northern and 麻豆传媒AVern Alberta Lily Society which is having their lily show. Maureen has lilies entered in several classes. A banquet takes place after the show.
I don鈥檛 think I kept everyone up to date on Florence Pike鈥檚 latest grandchildren. I think I did mention baby John Wayne Weber, born to Vanessa (Pike) and Mark Weber of Goodsoil, April 10, a brother for four big sisters. A daughter, Harper, was born to Tyler and Katlyn Johnston of Maidstone, May 30, a sister for Emmet. Laken, a daughter, was born to Kara and Sarel Potgieter of Lloydminster June 27.
Congratulations to all and to Florence who is now the proud great-grandmother of 23 great-grandchildren.
