Quilts and strawberries at Turtleford

Over 100 interested folks attended the Turtleford Quilters Club's first ever Quilt Show and Strawberry Tea April 16 at the Turtleford Seniors Center.

Over 100 interested folks attended the Turtleford Quilters Club's first ever Quilt Show and Strawberry Tea April 16 at the Turtleford Seniors Center. Nineteen exhibitors (anyone who had taken a class or was a member of the club) showed more than 100 quilted items.

Thank you to all the exhibitors; Dianne Brett (Turtleford), June Beisel (Livelong), Debbie Bonsan (Turtleford), Marleen Conacher (Fairholme), Quilters Cupboard (Lloydminster), Myrna Davidson (Brightsand), Eileen Ellis (Sherwood Park), Joyce Kert (St.Walburg), Shirley Ludwig (Livelong), Anna Meikle (Lloydminster), Diana Meikle (Turtleford), Charlene Marks (Turtleford), Cheryl Myers (Lloydminster), Krisy Myers (Calgary), Penny Mallard (Livelong), Marion Nordell (Turtleford), Shirley Nasby (Spruce Lake), Leona Schaub (Livelong), Lynne Taylor (Livelong), Shirley Vick (St.Walburg) and Betty Wolfe (Vanscoy) as well as Diane McNab with the Trees For Life Quilt donated by Marion Nordell, Marleen Conacher with her charity project of the 'Heart Recovery Bags', Penny Mallard's with the display of machine embroidery and Cher Epp's (Cher Orginals from Meadow Lake) for her booth with wholesale fabrics & notions, pattern books, kits and display of longarm quilting.

Jean Cole was winner of the Turtleford Quilters Club raffle quilt entitled The Gypsy Princess (quilted by Extraordinary Extras from Vermillion).

Winner of the Viewers Choice voting was Anna Meikle and her Blue Bargello Quilt.

Door Prize winners (sponsors in brackets) were: Doreen Henning (Diehl's Den), Cheryl Starnes (Anna Meikle), Gary Carnell (Nail Trendz Studio), Wilma Macdonald (Beaver Brook Bed & Breakfast), Shirley Nasby (CIBC), Bev Stroshein (Turtleford Quilters Club) and Fay Brett (Haus of Stitches).
