All residents of Battlefords District Care Centre were blessed with an early Christmas gift Dec. 17 when 117 poinsettias were delivered to the long-term care facility - one poinsettia for each resident.
The heart-warming donation was the initiative of Q98FM- The Rock Rawlco Radio station in North Battleford, with support from CUPE Local 5111 in Prairie North Health Region, Milbanke Flowers Ltd., Sallows & McDonald - Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home, Saskatchewan Union of Nurses and local businesses Shoppers Drug Mart, Battlefords Funeral Service, and Ultra Print Services Ltd.
Sandy Grant, BDCC facility manager, said "Residents of the care home were thrilled with the generous donation that adds an extra bit of sparkle for them during the Christmas season. The beautiful poinsettias will also bring smiles to the faces of staff and visitors to the facility over the holiday period."
"On behalf of all the residents, their families, and staff of BDCC, and Prairie North Health Region, we offer a huge thank you to Q98-The Rock, and the unions and businesses that enthusiastically and generously supported this wonderful gift," Grant said.
