Proficiency awards to Living Sky students

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education has awarded 2013 General Proficiency Awards to 15 students from Living Sky School Division.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education has awarded 2013 General Proficiency Awards to 15 students from Living Sky School Division. These awards are given to students to celebrate their academic excellence and to encourage their pursuit of post-secondary education.

The General Proficiency Awards of $400 are presented to the top 500 Grade 12 graduates from Saskatchewan high schools. Principals nominate the students.

The following Living Sky students will be receiving a General Proficiency Award in October:

Taylor Raiche, North Battleford Comprehensive High School; Jonathan Neigum, Unity Composite High School; Chandra Gatzke, Medstead Central School; Sean Fenrich, McLurg High School; Kelsie Fouhy, Maymont Central School; Taisley Isaac, North Battleford Comprehensive High School; Arsalan Anees, North Battleford Comprehensive High School; Brooke Forbes, North Battleford Comprehensive High School; Colton Upton, Luseland School; Miranda Gartner, Macklin School; Hayden Kissick, Kerrobert Composite School; Landon Gerein, McLurg High School; Scott Seidle, Medstead Central School; Kimberly Morris, Kerrobert Composite School; and Kaytlin Robertson, Unity Composite High School.

Living Sky School Division encompasses a wide geographic area including the Battlefords, many communities, villages, first nation communities and Hutterite colonies. Currently, 31 schools are located in 19 communities, including PreK-12, elementary, high schools and alternate schools, with a student population of approximately 5,700 students.
