Prize offered for best Christmas display

Waseca News
Christmas bow

Work on the Waseca skating rink is slow. We are all enjoying the lovely mild weather we have been blessed with, but it slows down the work on a natural ice rink.

It is interesting to see the lovely displays of Christmas lights going up in the village. The recreation board is once more sponsoring a prize for a Christmas light display. The judging will be done in the last week before Christmas.

The crafts for children after school time, sponsored by the Waseca Community Centre, proved to be enjoyable for those who attended. Those who attended also decorated the centre Christmas tree and enjoyed lunches and visiting together. The tree looks lovely.

Dec. 18 is the last day of school before the two-week Christmas break. Enjoy the holidays, everyone!

All are welcome to the carol service to be held in Waseca's Heritage Church Sunday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. The order of service will enable us to sing many familiar Christmas carols together. It is many, many years since an event such as this has taken place in the little church. Following the service, lunch and a bake sale will be held in the Community Centre. Proceeds from the bake sale will go toward new flooring for the Community Centre. All donations to the bake sale will be appreciated. A special treat will be a visit from Santa Claus with his bag of treats for the children.

Father's Day is a long way away, but raffle tickets for a quilt and a Big Sky fire pit will be on sale shortly. All proceeds will go towards the new flooring for the Community Centre.
