Plays presented at HHS's drama night

The H Hardcastle Royals Drama Club held their 24th annual drama night April 30. Desserts, contributed by the parents of the drama club members, were served at intermission. This year there were two plays presented.

The H Hardcastle Royals Drama Club held their 24th annual drama night April 30. Desserts, contributed by the parents of the drama club members, were served at intermission. This year there were two plays presented.

The junior drama club brought to the stage a comedy written by Jonathan Rand, Hard Candy. Taking part in this production were Lindon Goodall as Adam and Fred, and Kesha Schaefer as Bob and Emily. Jessica Curry played Cindy. Zachary Curry was Dave while Jamie Millard portrayed Gail with Courteney Fudge as Harry. Kieran McConnell brought Ira to life, with Sabrina Froese as Jill and lastly Haily Brennan was Linda. Crew consisted of Shanae Blaquiere as the student director and Brent Kobes on lights and sound.

The senior club presented It's a Wrap which was an original work written by the senior drama club. Portraying the characters in this production included Brent Kobes as Mr. Trunchbull and a teacher. Scarlett Apricot was played by Shaylyn McConnell, Jessica Bec portrayed Luna Bachinski and Jesse Cadrain played Dane Collingwood. Sabrina Cadrain was Angie Torez with her shadow, known as Maya, played by Brittany Bec. Shanae Blaquiere portrayed Bridgette Vonn with Berlin Sinclair-Sommerfeld as the audience member.

This play was about a graduating class and their take on their struggles to get to this day as well as what their self-esteem was or wasn't. Crew for this production were: directors Ms Formanek and Ms Csiki; props manager, Miss Wallebeck; stage manager, ShaeLynn Nedelec; backstage hands Jessica Cadrain and Berlin Sinclair-Sommerfeld; lights, Ms Formanek; sound, Miss Wallebeck. Congratulations to the drama club for a job well done once again.

Stellar insurance Service Inc. is pleased to share with you that employee Chantelle Fudge has passed her Canadian Accredited Insurance Brokerage exams with honours. She and her fellow classmates will be honoured at the annual Insurance Brokers of Saskatchewan convention in Saskatoon in October 2013. Chantelle is now a fully licensed commercial insurance broker. Congratulations, Chantelle.

Congratulations to the trip of the month winners for the month of April: Lawrence and Judy Carignan with the $100 going to Randy Orchison.
