Early this spring Mary Linnell attended a community theatre in Speers. The play, A Little Piece of Heaven written by Matthew Carlin, takes place in a small antique shop where people find things they have been searching for. The items vary from a school jacket to a record album, but all seem to add something special to the person's life.

Mary's attention was drawn to the painting of a little girl. It reminded her of a painting that had been in her grandparent's home. Her Granny had always said that it was hers because it reminded her of Mary , who was her only granddaughter. Checking the back of the painting she discovered a surprising handwritten note: "For Mary Ann Joyce Moore from your grandparents, May 30 1956" Amazingly this painting really was for her.

The set director, Lisa Moore, had found the old picture in a bunkhouse on the family farm and thought it would fit the theme of the play. Now that the picture hangs on her dining room wall, Mary is delighted to have found her very own "little piece of heaven." Given almost 55 years ago, the painting had been found and truly provided a happy ending.
