Dawn Gray who runs the Maymont Hotel had an unexpected guest last week, Bob Hart from Hart Guns, Penn., dropped in for lunch.

For 60 years Harts have been custom building and modifying long-range bolt action rifles. They have been leaders in the industry with cutting edge custom hunting, competition and law enforcement parts and accessories. From rests to scopes, stocks to barrels, reloading equipment to cleaning accessories, they carry all you and your rifle will ever need. All firearm modifications and upgrades are performed to bench rest competition standards. They are a full firearm machine shop and expert gunsmith facility. With innovative products like their custom actions, muzzle brakes, rests and reloading tools, one can feel confident he or she is dealing with one of the pioneers of long range accuracy.

Our very dear friend Kay Greensalde has moved from Maymont into North Battleford, Kay was the wife of Harold and is the mother of Eva, Betty and Clifford. Kay was the daughter of Alfred and Dorothy Andrews. She was born in City Hospital in Saskatoon. She grew up on her parents' farm and educated in Maymont School. She married Harold Sept. 23, 1959, in All Saints Anglican Church.

Harold and Kay purchased the Vanderhaegen Store in March of 1969 and opened and operated a poolroom for four and a half years. During the summer they operated a store and café at the Glenburn Regional Park, from 1964-1974. A new roof was put on the old poolroom in the spring of 1975, and, July 17, 1975, they officially opened Greenslade's M & M Store of groceries, meats and hardware. In 1979 they took on the caretaking of the Memorial Hall.

Kay was very active all her life with church and community. She was a 4-H student and leader, a Sunday school teacher in the United Church and a member of Rebekah UCW unit and she acted as correspondent for the News Optimist for 15 years or more, and also for Big Country Voice, a Hafford paper.

I cheated with this info as I was able to take it from the red book, Sod to Solar. We've just been in Maymont for the past six years and have been friends with Kay from the start. We are members of the seniors' centre where Kay is the president. Whenever there was an event happening at the hall or when we're doing fundraisers, if there's ever baking or anything else we need, she's always willing to donate.

Kay will truly be missed by family and friends but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We will still be able to visit with her in her new home in North Battleford.

Also moving from Maymont are Jay and Eva Babineau - someone else we'll also miss, someone else always willing to give a helping hand with anything they could. Jay is the secretary-treasurer of the Maymont Hall and will continue in that role.

Our friendship with you is special; we hope it never ends. Even though you're miles away, let's stay the best of friends. Kay, Jay and Eva, enjoy your new home.

Maymont library held a tea and bake sale Dec. 10. Many weathered the cold weather with a very successful event, Thank you, everyone who came out in the cold, the volunteers and everyone who donated to this event.
