Twelve members of the Parkinson’s Support Group of the Battlefords met in the Historic Lions Clubhouse in Battleford for a monthly meeting.
Two members reported back after taking part in the Parkinson’s Super Walk on the weekend in Saskatoon. This walk helps raise funds for research into Parkinson’s in Canada. Saskatchewan raised more than $105,000 for this worthy cause.Â
The group watched a webinar that was screened recently on Cognitive Impairment and Parkinson’s Disease. It was a taped presentation by Dr. Oury Monchi of Toronto and made available through Parkinson’s Canada. There was good discussion after this informative program.Â
The group usually meets on the second Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m., but as that is Thanksgiving in October, the group will meet Oct. 17 instead. Everyone with an interest in Parkinson’s Disease is welcome to come. The next meeting will be held in the Historic Battleford Lions Clubhouse, 162 - 22nd St., Battleford on Monday, Oct. 17, 1:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend.
